psychotherapy:

Leonard Cohen talks about his own struggles with depression.

(And deserves some special kind of award for being so graceful and charming in the face of a rather dreadfully obnoxious interviewer)

“I think good work is made inspite of suffering—as a response, as a victory over suffering. “

I’m always comforted when artists talk about their depression and immobility. For a long time, I would beat myself up for not producing any work, when artists with depression seemed to be so prolific. In my twisted logic, I took this to mean that I don’t have depression and that I should stop doing any art-related activities.

About

{So I lived. I don’t want to explain this further, I’m done with it.}

Queer neuroquirky 20something fandrogyne (neutral-variant pronouns). Science student. Prone to sudden enthusiasms.

Disclaimer: I’m not actually a person, I’m a real-world-AU fanfiction character from a parallel world’s show about changelings, libraries, dinosaurs, and crime. So is Shipwash. [Relevant Tag.]
